To ensure that shedding is minimized, Sassy Secret uses a technique of infusing a small amount of glue with the knot to further secure and fortify.

 

Causes for Shedding Balding/Thinning
 
1. Combing your lace wig while it is still wet after washing and conditioning
2. Roughness while combing and washing/handing your cheap full lace wigs
3. Using very oily or greasy haircare products on your unit
4. Not thoroughly removing adhesives from your unit prior to washing
5. Using hot or very warm water when washing your unit
6. Combing your wig from root to tip instead of from tip to root.

While, this does not completely eliminate the problem of shedding, it does significantly minimize excessive knot slippage.

Swimming in Your Unit

You are able to swim in your unit, though we recommend you use an extended wear HARD BOND adhesive. However, please note that Chlorine and Salt Water can damage your own hair so naturally it can be extremely damaging to your lace wig. Therefore, please take extra care when swimming in your unit. It is best to wear a swim cap.

 

How to Re-Seal the Knots on Your Unit to Prevent Shedding

Some shedding is normal however it should not shed anymore then your own hair. If you begin to experience a lot of shedding, your knots may need to be resealed. This method will eliminate shedding. This should be done immediately once you notice any shedding and also AFTER EACH WASH. Re-sealing your knots along with Deep Conditioning your unit is a crucial part in assuring the longevity of your unit.
